Siddheshwar Waterfall

The waterfall is situated in Khandale village, a short distance from Alibag, and takes about an hour to reach from the village. It’s unique in that it flows strongly only during heavy rainfall; otherwise, its flow is minimal. However, its great height makes it visually stunning. At the base of the waterfall, there’s a beautiful shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. It’s an ideal spot for a one-day trek with your dogs. Be sure to carry water and snacks, as there are no facilities along the way. The trail leading to the waterfall is narrow and risky, allowing only one person to pass at a time, so exercise caution and wear proper shoes with good grip.

The more commonly used route starts from Khandale village near Alibag. This path also takes around 3 hours but is better marked with arrows at regular intervals, making it nearly impossible to lose the trail. At the fort, there are 6-7 large water tanks, though none of them contain drinkable water. A Hanuman temple with a shelter is available for rest. The fort’s plateau is vast, with limited forest cover near the Vanartok side. At the highest point, there is a small statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, flanked by two cannons. Colaba Fort

Colaba Fort can be accessed from Alibag Beach. The beach is bustling with horse carriages and noisy rental cars (go-karts), which create a lot of congestion, making it difficult to let pet dogs roam freely. The horses are poorly treated, and it’s not recommended to opt for the horse rides or car rides due to the chaotic environment. During low tide, you can walk to Colaba Fort in about 15 minutes from the beach. Otherwise, a boat ride is necessary, with services available for ₹200 per person. The entry fee is ₹25, or ₹20 if paid online by scanning a QR code. It’s best to check the tide timings before visiting, as the fort is more easily accessible during low tide. The fort is open from 10 am to 5 pm, and since there’s no electricity inside, it’s important to leave before sunset. A tour of the fort takes around 1-2 hours, where you’ll find beautiful temples, cannons, storerooms, and step wells.

The entire city of Revdanda is situated within the fort. The standout feature of the fort is the seven-story Saatkhani tower, built by the Portuguese as a watchtower during their rule. Nowadays, it’s a popular spot for couples, especially for pre-wedding photoshoots. Revdanda Beach is one of the best in Alibaug, with its expansive shoreline and fort ruins creating a stunning landscape. The beach is usually uncrowded, but the approach road is quite narrow.
