Welcome to MakeIndiaPetFriendly, a heartfelt initiative born from my love for travel, history, and, most importantly, my furry companions!

Having grown up in a family that has cherished pet dogs for three generations, animals have always been an integral part of my life. In 2018, this love for pets and adventure inspired me and seven friends to create Dogs and Wanderers—a group dedicated to organizing free-of-cost, pet-friendly treks and outings. While the pandemic brought our group activities to a halt, my passion for exploring with my pets never wavered. Whether solo or with family, my journeys continued, enriched by the unconditional joy that only a wagging tail can bring.

As an architect by profession and a history buff at heart, I have always been captivated by India’s rich cultural heritage. From majestic forts to hidden caves, our country is a treasure trove of stories waiting to be rediscovered. As a conservation architect, I’ve had the privilege of understanding these historical gems in depth, often exploring them with my dogs as companions. However, it’s disheartening to see many of these places forgotten, with few visitors to appreciate their beauty and significance.

This realization became the driving force behind MakeIndiaPetFriendly. Through this platform, I aim to promote pet-friendly tourism across India—encouraging pet parents to explore places that welcome their four-legged family members. From hotels and resorts to lesser-known historical sites, my blog is here to inspire you to step off the beaten path and discover the unexplored.

India is a land of wonders, and my mission is to make it accessible to everyone—humans and pets alike. Together, we can shine a light on destinations that deserve more attention, while fostering a culture of inclusivity for pets in tourism.

I hope this small yet heartfelt effort of mine brings us closer to a future where every journey in India is a pet-friendly one. Here’s to creating memories, one pawprint at a time!
